BREAKING: OSUN SENATOR FADAHUNSI QUITS PDP OVER PARTY CRISIS
Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated June 12, 2025, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP in Ward 4, Obokun Local Government Area, Fadahunsi cited irreconcilable internal conflicts and ongoing legal crises at the national level of the party as his reasons for leaving.
He explained that his decision followed consultations with political allies, family, and friends, concluding that the PDP was no longer aligned with his values or political vision after the turmoil that followed the 2023 general elections.
His resignation letter read in part:
“I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedeviled the party at the National level after the 2023 general elections.”
Senator Fadahunsi, a prominent politician from Ijesa land, is a two-term Senator and was considered a strong backer of Governor Ademola Adeleke. His exit marks a significant shift in Osun politics and could have ripple effects ahead of future elections.
The senator has not yet announced his next political move or whether he plans to join another party.
