BREAKING: NNAMDI KANU BOWS TO COURT ORDER, FILES DEFENCE IN TERRORISM CASE
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has complied with the directive of the Federal High Court in Abuja to file his defence in the terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government.
Kanu is currently submitting his defence documents inside the courtroom, as ordered by Justice James Omotosho.
Following repeated complaints from the IPOB leader, Justice Omotosho directed that the court’s registry be temporarily relocated to the courtroom to enable Kanu to complete the filing process without further delay.
Counsel to the Federal Government, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), confirmed to the court that he would receive the defence documents directly from Kanu and respond accordingly.
As of the time of this report, filing was still ongoing, with Justice Omotosho standing down proceedings for one hour to allow completion.
Until now, Kanu had consistently refused to open his defence, insisting that the Federal Government must first specify the exact terrorism law he allegedly violated before he could proceed.
