BREAKING: COURT DISMISSES NNAMDI KANU’S NO-CASE SUBMISSION, ORDERS HIM TO OPEN DEFENSE
The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the no-case submission filed by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in his ongoing terrorism trial.
Delivering ruling on Friday, Justice James Omotosho held that the Federal Government had established a prima facie case against Kanu, warranting him to enter his defense.
According to the court, Kanu must be given the opportunity to respond to the issues raised against him rather than seeking to terminate the case prematurely.
“It is in the best interest of the defendant to be allowed to clear some of the allegations before the court,” Justice Omotosho ruled.
The decision means that Kanu will now open his defense in the terrorism charges preferred against him by the Federal Government, marking a critical stage in the high-profile case that has drawn national and international attention.
