BREAKING: APC MEMBERS PROTEST IN LAGOS, DEMAND STATE CHAIRMAN’S REMOVAL

Tensions flared in Lagos on Monday as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) staged a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly, demanding the immediate removal of the party’s state chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.

Protesters, said to be drawn from all 57 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state, gathered in Alausa, Ikeja, carrying placards with bold messages like “Ojelabi Must Go” and “We Demand New Leadership.”

The aggrieved party members expressed deep dissatisfaction with Ojelabi’s leadership style, accusing him of failing to unite the party and demanding urgent change before the next round of political activities in the state.

“We are tired of poor leadership. It’s time for a new face and fresh ideas in Lagos APC,” one protester said.

To maintain order and prevent any breakdown of law and order, a heavy police presence was deployed at the Assembly complex. The protest, however, remained peaceful.

As of press time, neither the Lagos APC leadership nor the State House of Assembly had officially responded to the protest or addressed the group’s demands.

This latest development signals growing internal unrest within the APC’s Lagos chapter, as the party gears up for future elections and political repositioning.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
