Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde was left visibly shocked after content creator Brain Jotter orchestrated a spectacular surprise for her.

The skitmaker arranged for a flipping troupe to perform at one of the cinemas screening her movie. The surprise was planned to celebrate both Omotola’s directorial debut and her 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry.

Reacting to the unexpected gesture, Omotola expressed her amazement and praised Brain Jotter for thinking “outside the box.”

She shared on social media:

"@brainjotter shocked me! Brought a flipping troupe!!! What? We had fun though! He said it’s your 30th Anniversary and Debut Movie! So we’re doing something outside the box! Who saw this coming? Mother’s Love is showing all through the week in all cinemas! Also, did you know? All ticket proceeds now go to the education of children from underserved communities."

A day prior, Omotola had also gifted actor Nosa Rex flowers, praising his positive energy and the calming influence he brought to the set. She noted that working with him helped her manage the pressures of directing her first movie.

On Sunday, March 1st, the talented actress held the premiere of A Mother’s Love at the Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi, Lagos. The movie will hit cinemas nationwide from March 6th. The premiere was attended by numerous celebrities, including Rita Dominic, Toke Makinwa, Nosa Rex, and even former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Following the premiere, Omotola expressed gratitude to her fans and credited God for the success of the event, promising to share more reflections in future posts.

The actress has previously stirred conversation in the industry by stating that she would not dance to market her movies, describing such promotional strategies as unprofessional. She emphasized the importance of quality filmmaking and proper promotion.

Omotola has also voiced concerns about Nollywood’s lack of structure, comparing it to Hollywood. She revealed that while she receives monthly residuals from her four years of work in Hollywood, she has received none from Nollywood despite a 30-year career in the industry.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
