BOA, FARMERS’ GROUP PLAN FUNDING FOR 400,000 DRY-SEASON FARMERS
The Bank of Agriculture has partnered with the All-Farmers Association of Nigeria to provide financing for 400,000 farmers participating in the 2026 dry-season farming cycle.
The initiative is being implemented through the bank’s Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund, with the aim of improving farmers’ access to financing, agricultural inputs and irrigation equipment. (punchng.com)
The programme is expected to support year-round agricultural production and contribute to efforts to strengthen food supply across the country.
The partnership between BOA and AFAN is also intended to improve access to financial services for smallholder farmers who may face difficulties obtaining funding for seasonal production.
The bank said the programme would cover farmers involved in the 2026 dry-season cycle, with financing structured to support production and value-chain activities.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to increase agricultural productivity, improve food security and expand financing opportunities for farmers.
