BLESSING CEO: WHY MARRIAGES FAIL TODAY — “SOCIAL MEDIA, TOO MUCH TALKING, AND EGO CLASHES”

Popular relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has shared her candid thoughts on why many modern marriages don’t stand the test of time.

Speaking in a recent interview with Instablog TV, Blessing CEO pointed to social media and what she calls “excessive talking” as major reasons marriages collapse today. According to her, couples now air private matters publicly, and spend too much time online instead of addressing issues face-to-face.

She also noted that the traditional community systems — like family elders and village meetings — that used to help settle disputes in marriages have lost their power in this generation.

Blessing CEO went further to explain how today’s independence and exposure, especially for women, can be a double-edged sword.

“In our generation, because I am working and earning money, even if I am quarreling with my husband, what do I need to go to my husband for? Once a woman becomes independent, she begins to rub shoulders with the man,” she said.

She stressed that a woman’s success is rarely the real issue for men. Rather, it’s the change in energy — the perceived masculinity that sometimes comes with success — that makes men uneasy.

“No man is intimidated by your success. They’re only afraid of the masculinity that comes with it,” Blessing CEO explained.

Her advice to women was simple: no matter how successful you become, always maintain your softness and feminine side. According to her, when women become too assertive or competitive at home, it often pushes their husbands to look for “softer” company elsewhere or even abandon the marriage.

“So women should always remember to be soft, no matter how much you have, because once you start to drag shoulders with your husband, he begins to cheat and look for a woman that is softer, or he leaves the marriage,” she warned.

Her remarks have stirred a lot of conversation online, with many debating whether traditional gender roles still hold any place in modern relationships, or if couples simply need to find new ways to balance power, love, and respect.
