BITGET WALLET OPENS ACCESS TO TOKENISED US STOCKS
Bitget Wallet has integrated Reality, a regulated tokenised asset issuance protocol, allowing Nigerian users to access more than 1,700 tokenised United States stocks and exchange-traded funds through the wallet.
The company said the integration enables users to trade shares of companies including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple and Amazon without opening a separate foreign brokerage account.
The tokenised assets, known as rTokens, are backed on a one-to-one basis by the underlying US shares held at Alpaca Securities, a FINRA-registered and SIPC-member broker-dealer. The company said the reserves are independently verified daily by a third-party accounting firm.
During US market hours, orders are routed to liquidity on the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange, rather than being matched solely through an on-chain trading pool.
Bitget said more than 90 of its highest-volume rTokens are also available for trading outside regular market hours, including weekends, through its market infrastructure. The integration is currently available on the Arbitrum and Morph networks.
Eligible rTokens can receive dividends directly in users’ wallets through stablecoins, while stock splits and other corporate actions are automatically reflected.
The company said the integration allows users to hold tokenised US shares alongside existing crypto and stablecoin assets while retaining control of their wallet keys.
Bitget Wallet had previously introduced tokenised equities, ETF indexes and precious metals through Ondo Global Markets. It has also added Ondo and xStocks to its self-custodial offerings.
