BIRD STRIKE FORCES AIR PEACE FLIGHT BACK TO LAGOS, CAUSES DELAYS
An Air Peace flight heading to Enugu was forced to return to Lagos shortly after takeoff on Thursday morning due to a bird strike.
The flight, P47100, had just departed Murtala Muhammed Airport when the incident occurred, prompting the pilot to make an emergency return as a safety precaution.
According to a statement from the airline, the bird strike affected the aircraft’s performance, and the decision to return was made to allow engineers carry out a full safety inspection.
As a result, other flights were delayed or rescheduled, causing temporary disruption to Air Peace's network.
The airline apologized to affected passengers for the inconvenience and assured them that efforts are ongoing to restore normal flight operations as quickly as possible.
“We sincerely empathize with our passengers and appeal for your patience and understanding,” the statement read.
