Makurdi, August 8, 2025

Benue Investment and Property Company Limited, BIPC, has disclosed that it is set to launch three new factories in October 2025.

The Group Managing Director, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, who made the disclosure yesterday in Makurdi, when he received another 10 truckloads of machinery for the soon-to-be-launched Food Basket Brewery in Makurdi, stated that the move would alleviate poverty and boost the Benue economy.

According to Dr. Asemakaha, the three factories – Food Basket Brewery, Benfruit, and Juice Factories – will create not less than 1,500 direct jobs across the businesses.

He stated that the company has deliberately established these factories to take off the growing multitude of graduates off the streets and provide employment opportunities for the youth.

The Food Basket Brewery, which has already received 16 truckloads of machinery, is expected to generate between N400 million to N500 million monthly.

Dr. Asemakaha expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for his unwavering support to BIPC, pledging the company’s commitment to the administration’s industrialization agenda.

The BIPC boss noted that the company has provided 580 direct jobs and over 3,000 indirect jobs for the Benue people through the establishment of previous factories.

He emphasized that the company’s goal is to make money rotate within the state to boost the economy.

With an estimated cost of $5 million to $10 million to start up a brewery, Dr. Asemakaha assured that BIPC has started the project and there is no going back, expressing optimism that the launch of the factories will contribute significantly to the state’s economic development and provide a much-needed boost to the local economy.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
