CONTINUATION OF PART1 After waiting a few minutes, she looked down at the stick. Two red lines.

She was pregnant.

Tears filled her eyes.

She sat on the floor, confused and afraid. She had no idea who the father was—Sayoo or Bayo. How could she tell them? Would either of them believe her?

For days, neither man called her. They both felt betrayed and angry. Janet finally sent a message, asking to meet at the Inisha community café to explain.

When they arrived, the tension was heavy. The air felt hot, even with the fan spinning above them.

Janet looked at them with tears in her eyes. “I messed up,” she said softly. “I was dating both of you without knowing you were friends. I was selfish… and now I’m pregnant. I don’t know who the father is.”

Sayoo stood up, walked to the window, and said nothing. Bayo looked away, biting his lips.

After a long pause, Sayoo said, “We’ll find out when the child is born. But Janet, you broke something that can’t be fixed.”

Bayo added, “You hurt both of us. Not just as men, but as friends.”

Janet nodded. “I don’t deserve forgiveness. I just want to take responsibility.”

In the months that followed, Janet went through the pregnancy mostly alone. The community whispered about her. Some blamed her, others felt pity.

Sayoo and Bayo never fought. They agreed to wait until the baby was born and take a DNA test.

Nine months later, Janet gave birth to a baby boy.

The test showed that Bayo was the father.

Though he was still hurt, Bayo decided to be part of the child’s life. But he made it clear he would never go back to Janet.

Sayoo forgave Bayo too, and slowly, they rebuilt their friendship—though things were never the same again.

As for Janet, she learned a lesson that would stay with her forever:

Lies may give you a short victory, but the truth always wins in the end.
