Real Betis continued their impressive start to the 2026/27 La Liga season with a 1-0 victory over Getafe on Thursday night. Abde Ezzalzouli scored the only goal of the match shortly before half-time, converting from inside the box after a well-worked attacking move involving Troy Parrott. The result gave Betis their fifth victory in six league matches.

Parrott played an important role in the victory, providing the assist for Abde's decisive goal. The Republic of Ireland striker had earlier come close to scoring himself when his long-range effort from near the halfway line was tipped over by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria. Parrott was eventually substituted in the 72nd minute as Betis held on for another three points.

Getafe struggled to find an equaliser despite pushing forward after the break, while Betis defended their narrow advantage until the final whistle. The visitors were also reduced to 10 men late in the game after Mario Martín was shown a red card. The victory moved Betis to 15 points from six matches, keeping them among the leading sides in the early La Liga standings.

At La Rosaleda, Villarreal came from behind to defeat Málaga 3-1 and record their first league victory of the season. Málaga took the lead through Carlos Dotor in the 12th minute after a quick attacking transition, but Villarreal responded before the interval when Alberto Moleiro levelled the scores in the 40th minute.

Villarreal completed the comeback shortly after half-time when Pape Gueye put the visitors ahead, before the midfielder converted a late penalty in the 86th minute to secure a 3-1 win. The result gave coach Iñigo Pérez his first victory with Villarreal in the league and moved the club out of the relegation zone, while Málaga remained in 19th position.
