BENUE NDC CANDIDATE UNVEILS THREE-POINT AGENDA

The Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate for the Benue State House of Assembly, Ado State Constituency, Mike Ogaba-Ojah, has unveiled a three-point agenda focused on job creation, security and infrastructure development ahead of the 2027 election.

Ogaba-Ojah said his decision to contest was driven by calls from constituents who wanted him to provide what he described as practical and result-oriented representation.

He identified unemployment, insecurity, poor access to markets and inadequate infrastructure as major challenges facing residents of the constituency.

To address unemployment, the candidate said he would sponsor an Agro-Processing Hub Bill to encourage the processing of farm produce within the constituency. He said the initiative would create jobs, increase farmers’ earnings and expand opportunities for young people.

He also proposed a Multi-Functional Skills Acquisition Centre Bill to establish training centres where youths could learn skills such as welding, tailoring, solar technology and agro-machinery, with starter tools provided to successful trainees.

On security, Ogaba-Ojah said he would sponsor a Community Policing Bill to provide a legal framework for training and supporting local vigilantes in collaboration with the police.

He also promised to push for better rural roads and solar power for agricultural and skills centres, while holding quarterly town hall meetings to report on his activities if elected.

The candidate said his goal was to create more opportunities locally so young people would not have to leave the constituency in search of jobs.
