BENIN SET TO HOST GRAND CULTURAL CELEBRATION AT EDO CARNIVAL 2025
The ancient city of Benin is gearing up for a spectacular celebration as it prepares to host the Edo Carnival 2025, slated to take place from December 21 to 24.
For four days, the historic city will come alive with colour, music, and creativity as thousands of participants and visitors gather to celebrate Edo’s rich heritage through music, dance, art, and culture.
The event, scheduled to hold at Garrick Memorial on Ekehuan Road, promises more than entertainment. According to the organisers, the carnival will be a full sensory experience — from the vibrant rhythms of traditional drums and thrilling masquerade displays to colourful street parades, Afrobeat concerts, and dazzling fashion showcases.
Visitors will also enjoy food festivals featuring signature Edo dishes and popular Nigerian delicacies, creating a feast that delights both the eyes and the palate.
Major highlights will include cultural parades showcasing Edo’s deep-rooted traditions, live performances by top artists, energetic dance competitions, and captivating street displays expected to keep the city lively throughout the festival.
The Miss Edo Carnival 2025 beauty pageant will also be a key attraction, celebrating elegance, intellect, and cultural pride.
Beyond entertainment, the carnival will feature seminars and training sessions aimed at empowering participants and promoting cultural education.
