BEN FOSTER PREDICTS AMORIM’S SACK AT MAN UTD, TIPS GLASNER AS IDEAL REPLACEMENT
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has cast doubt over Ruben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford, predicting that the Portuguese manager could be sacked within months.
Speaking on his Fozcast Podcast, the 42-year-old said United’s lack of cohesion under Amorim will eventually force the club’s hierarchy to make a change.
“I think he [Amorim] has got a couple months left, probably. He will go through a bad little run of two or three or four games in a row where he loses, and eventually they will go, ‘Right, we’ve had enough now, it’s obviously not working.’ I just watched them, and I don’t really see any kind of cohesion,” Foster said.
The former England international suggested that Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner would be the ideal replacement, noting that the Austrian coach has less than a year left on his current contract.
“Somebody who would be good for Man United is Glasner. He’s only got nine months left on his contract at Palace,” Foster added.
So far, Amorim has overseen 48 matches in charge of Manchester United, with a record of 19 wins and 20 defeats. Despite beating Chelsea last week, United sit 11th in the Premier League table, piling pressure on the manager.
