Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale, has broken her silence following emotional accusations from her mother, who claimed the reality TV star abandoned her even after winning the ₦150 million grand prize.

The controversy erupted after Imisi’s mother posted a series of videos online on November 16, alleging that she still lives in poor conditions and has received no help from her daughter since the show ended. Her videos, which quickly went viral, showed her expressing frustration and insisting she would never beg for support.

Imisi, however, took to Instagram to set the record straight. She questioned why the issue surfaced only after her rise to fame, especially considering their strained relationship before her BBNaija success.

According to Imisi, her mother had not been present in her life for years, with long periods—sometimes up to two years—passing without a single phone call. She said the sudden public accusation left her shocked because the bond had always been distant.

The reality star stressed that she has consistently supported her mother over time, revealing she even sent her money just days before the online outburst.

“Before I won BBNaija, you wouldn’t call me for a year or two. So why is there a problem now?” she said. “God knows I have tried. I still sent you money last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself?”

Imisi also explained that her prize money cannot be dedicated to the comfort of one person, noting that over 100 family members now depend on her financially.

“I cannot take even ₦1 from the money I won just for one person’s comfort,” she added. “I have many people in the family looking up to me alone.”
