BAYERN MUNICH STRIKER HARRY KANE EQUALS HISTORIC MILESTONE AND NEARS CRISTIANO RONALDO’S ALL-TIME CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SCORING RECORD
England captain converts 61st-minute penalty in 2-2 draw against Arsenal to become only the second player in UEFA Champions League history to score in 10 consecutive matches
Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has secured another major European milestone by scoring in his 10th consecutive UEFA Champions League appearance during Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena.
The England captain converted a 61st-minute penalty kick to temporarily put Bayern ahead before Declan Rice equalized in the 82nd minute to seal a point for the visitors.
Kane's penalty against the Gunners moved him past former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski, both of whom achieved nine-game scoring streaks in the competition, placing him second on the all-time list behind Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo holds the all-time Champions League scoring record after netting in 11 consecutive matches for Real Madrid during their 2017/18 title-winning campaign. Across his current 10-match European run, Kane has accumulated an extraordinary tally of 13 goals and 4 assists.
Kane can equal Ronaldo’s 11-game record when Bayern Munich travel to face Spanish side Atlético Madrid in their upcoming Champions League fixture
