The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase continued on Thursday with several exciting results, as Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Como all recorded impressive victories. Bayern delivered one of the biggest wins of the night, while Manchester United marked their return to Europe’s elite competition with a convincing performance at Old Trafford. Como also made history by securing a memorable victory in their first-ever Champions League campaign.

Bayern Munich produced a dominant display at the Allianz Arena, defeating Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt 5-0. After a goalless first half, the German champions found their rhythm after the break and scored five times. Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies and Michael Olise were among the players who got on the scoresheet, with Olise completing a brace as Bayern opened their campaign in emphatic fashion.

Manchester United also enjoyed a perfect return to the Champions League, beating debutants Sabah 4-0 at Old Trafford. Matheus Cunha opened the scoring before Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Šeško extended United’s advantage, while Lisandro Martínez added another goal in the second half. The result gave United a strong start and provided manager Michael Carrick with an encouraging opening result in the competition.

Como produced arguably the biggest surprise of the night by defeating RB Leipzig 4-1. Playing in the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, the Italian side showed no fear against the German outfit and secured a convincing victory. Lens also came from behind to beat Slavia Prague 3-2, scoring twice in stoppage time to complete a dramatic comeback.

The other matches ended in draws, with Fenerbahçe and Roma sharing the points after a 1-1 result in Istanbul, while PSV Eindhoven and Shakhtar Donetsk also played out a 1-1 draw. The results leave several teams with plenty to build on as the league phase continues, with the early rounds already producing big wins, surprise results and dramatic late goals.
