Bauchi State has been thrown into mourning following the death of Isa Suleman, a highly respected journalist and former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council.

Governor Bala Mohammed, in a heartfelt condolence message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, described Suleman as “a consummate professional and a mentor to many in the journalism profession.”

Until his passing, Suleman worked in the Public Relations Department of Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau. He died in Bauchi on Tuesday after a prolonged illness.

Governor Mohammed praised the late journalist’s humility, dedication to duty, and unwavering commitment to truth and fairness. According to the Governor, Suleman’s legacy in promoting public enlightenment and shaping the media landscape in Bauchi and beyond will not be forgotten.

He extended his condolences to Suleman’s family, the media community, and the entire people of Bauchi State, praying for Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give his loved ones the strength to bear the loss.

“May his soul rest in perfect peace, Ameen,” the Governor concluded.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
