BAUCHI APC GOV CANDIDATE DISTRIBUTES 10 TRUCKS OF FERTILISER TO PARTY LOYALISTS

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), on Tuesday commenced the distribution of 10 trucks of fertiliser  to party members across the state to support farming activities during the 2026 wet season.

The fertiliser distribution, flagged off at the APC State Secretariat in Bauchi, is expected to benefit party members in all the 20 local government areas, 323 wards and polling units across the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, Abubakar said the initiative was designed to assist farmers, noting that agriculture remains the main source of livelihood for more than 70 per cent of Bauchi State residents.

He explained that the fertiliser support was provided through the Tinubu/Shettima and M.A/Farouk campaign organisations to enable APC members engaged in farming to improve their productivity during the current farming season.

“We recognise that agriculture is the backbone of our state’s economy and the livelihood of the majority of our people. This support is aimed at ensuring that our members who are farmers have the inputs needed to maximise this farming season,” he said.

He urged those responsible for the distribution to ensure transparency and fairness so that the fertiliser reaches the intended beneficiaries, while praying for abundant rainfall and bumper harvests.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, commended Abubakar for facilitating the fertiliser intervention and called on party officials handling the exercise to distribute the inputs equitably.

Dogara stressed that a transparent distribution process would ensure the support achieves its intended purpose of boosting agricultural production among party members.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, APC Chairman of Kirfi Local Government Area, Sani Bala, expressed gratitude to the governorship candidate and other party leaders for the intervention.

He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support for Bauchi State and acknowledged the contributions of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, in attracting opportunities and support for APC members in the state.
