BARCELONA MAINTAIN PERFECT START AS RAPHINHA HAT-TRICK LEADS SEVEN-GOAL ROUT
Barcelona continued their impressive start to the LaLiga season on Wednesday after sweeping aside Racing Santander 7-2 at the Camp Nou. Raphinha was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick as Hansi Flick’s side maintained their perfect record in the league and strengthened their position at the top of the table.
Joao Cancelo, Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal were also among the scorers for Barcelona, while Racing found the net twice through Maguette Gueye and Yassir Zabiri. The victory took Barcelona to six wins from six league matches, while their attacking output continued to attract attention after another high-scoring performance.
Atletico Madrid also enjoyed a convincing evening as they defeated Osasuna 4-0 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Jonathan David scored his first goal in the starting lineup for the club, while Atletico’s attacking display gave Diego Simeone’s side an important boost ahead of Sunday’s Madrid derby against Real Madrid.
In another fixture, Sevilla claimed a narrow 1-0 victory away to Deportivo La Coruna. The result ended Deportivo’s unbeaten home run and gave Sevilla another valuable three points as the Andalusian side continued their campaign. Meanwhile, the scheduled meeting between Levante and Athletic Bilbao was postponed because of heavy rainfall and a waterlogged pitch.
The results leave Barcelona at the summit with a perfect six wins from six, while Real Madrid remain three points behind them. Atletico’s victory also strengthened their position among the leading teams before their meeting with Real Madrid, with the derby set to provide another major test for both sides.
