Barcelona strengthened their grip on the La Liga title with a narrow 1-0 win against Mallorca on Tuesday, extending their lead over second-placed Real Madrid to seven points with only five games remaining.

Dani Olmo scored the match's only goal just after the break, finishing off a well-executed team move. Despite dominating the match and creating numerous opportunities, Barcelona struggled to break the deadlock in the first half, with Mallorca's goalkeeper Leo Roman making a series of outstanding saves to keep his team in the game.

In preparation for this weekend's Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick made several changes to the lineup. Ansu Fati, making his first start since October, and Ferran Torres, who replaced the injured Robert Lewandowski, were among the fresh faces. Barcelona’s attacking pressure remained strong despite the changes, as they continued to test Roman's goal.

Roman's heroics were the standout feature of the match for Mallorca, with the goalkeeper making 10 crucial saves, including several close-range stops and denying efforts from Fati and Lamine Yamal. Barcelona had several near-misses, with a deflected shot from Gavi hitting the post and Torres firing just over the bar.

Although Mallorca did not score, they had a late penalty shout in stoppage time when Barcelona’s Eric Garcia appeared to hold Abdon Prats in the box, but the referee waved it off, sealing the win for the hosts.

Barcelona's second-half breakthrough came through Olmo, giving them a vital three points as they close in on securing their first La Liga title in years. With a highly anticipated Clasico against Real Madrid set for May 11, Barcelona will aim to maintain their momentum in the title race.
