Just two days after gunmen killed three farmers and abducted several others on the outskirts of Janbako in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, armed bandits have launched yet another deadly attack on the same village.

The latest incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, resulting in the death of one resident and injuries to another.

According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants invaded Janbako in large numbers, firing sporadically and sparking chaos before fleeing into the nearby bush.

This renewed attack follows Sunday’s tragic incident in which three farmers were shot dead, one person was injured, and multiple individuals were kidnapped while working on their farms outside the community.

Local sources revealed that the attackers arrived on motorcycles and opened fire indiscriminately, targeting unsuspecting residents before abducting some of them.

Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed the attack in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“Earlier today, bandits attacked Janbako community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing one person and injuring another. This comes just two days after a similar assault on the outskirts, where three farmers lost their lives, several were injured, and many were abducted.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
