BANDITS KILL ONE, SEVERAL MISSING IN KWARA COMMUNIT
One person was reportedly killed while several others are missing following a violent attack by armed bandits in Shagbe village, near Igbaja town in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attack, which occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, threw the community into panic. A security source revealed that one person was killed during the invasion, while eight others have been declared missing. The source added that due to the volatile situation, conducting an on-the-spot assessment was not immediately possible.
Reacting to the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Oke-Ode has been deployed to the area for an on-the-spot assessment.
The Shagbe attack came just hours after the arrest of a large number of suspected bandits in Babanla community, who are currently being profiled at the state police command headquarters in Ilorin.
