BANDITS ATTACK ZAMFARA MOSQUE DURING PRAYERS, KILL FIVE WORSHIPPERS, ABDUCT OTHERS
Tragedy struck in Zamfara State on Friday as armed bandits invaded a mosque in Yandoto community, Tsafe Local Government Area, killing at least five worshippers and abducting several others.
The incident, confirmed by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on X, reportedly occurred around 5:00 a.m. during dawn prayers. According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen stormed the mosque and opened fire on the congregation before whisking away some worshippers into the forest.
The attack left the community in grief as residents later gathered to offer funeral prayers for the slain victims, who were described as devoted Muslims regularly seen at the mosque.
This latest assault adds to the growing wave of insecurity in Zamfara, where banditry and mass abductions have continued to plague rural communities despite ongoing military operations.
