BANDITS ATTACK KATSINA CHURCH, KILL PASTOR AND MEMBER, ABDUCT WOMAN
Residents of Yaribori community in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State have been thrown into mourning following a brutal attack by suspected bandits on Bege Baptist Church. The gunmen killed the church’s pastor, Reverend Emmanuel Na’allah, along with a member, Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro, and also kidnapped a woman during the late-night raid.
The attack reportedly happened on Monday night, with the assailants storming the church premises, opening fire on those inside, and then fleeing with their abducted victim. The identity of the kidnapped woman has not yet been disclosed.
A security analyst known as Bakatsine shared details of the tragic event on X (formerly Twitter), writing on Tuesday:
“Yesterday night, bandits attacked Bege Baptist Church in Yaribori community, Kafur LGA, Katsina State. They killed the church pastor, Rev. Emmanuel Na’allah and a member, Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro and abducted a woman during the attack.”
As of the time of this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident, leaving many residents anxious and fearful.
The attack highlights the continued security challenges facing many rural communities in Katsina and across northern Nigeria, where armed groups frequently target villages, places of worship, and travelers for ransom or retaliation.
Community members are now calling on security agencies to intensify patrols and interventions to prevent further tragedies. Meanwhile, prayers and messages of condolence have poured in for the families of Reverend Na’allah and Mallam Taro, with hopes that the abducted woman will be safely rescued.
