BALLON D’OR NOMINATION A REWARD FOR DEDICATION – NNADOZIE
Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has expressed her excitement over being nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Nnadozie is in contention for the Yacine Trophy, which honours the Best Women’s Goalkeeper in the world.
At 24, she becomes the first African woman to receive a nomination for the prestigious award.
The talented shot-stopper has had a remarkable year with both club and country.
She played a key role in helping her former club, Paris FC, clinch the Coupe de France Féminine title against Paris Saint-Germain in May, making a decisive save during the 5-4 penalty shootout.
Now with Brighton & Hove Albion, Nnadozie was also instrumental in Nigeria’s successful campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She was named the Goalkeeper of the Tournament after keeping four clean sheets in six matches.
“This nomination means a lot to me. It’s a joy for me and my family. It shows that all the hard work, consistency, and prayers have paid off,” Nnadozie said in a short video shared on the Super Falcons’ official X account.
