BALA MOHAMMED: I STEPPED DOWN MY PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION FOR PDP’S ZONING TO THE SOUTH
Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, has revealed that he gave up his presidential ambition to allow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) zone its presidential ticket to the South.
Speaking with journalists, the governor expressed satisfaction with the party’s decision, stressing that it was made collectively and in the spirit of fairness and unity.
“I’m very satisfied with the resolution because I’m part of it – from the arrangement, strategy, and delivery. It was an inclusive decision for us to sustain the zoning formula and move the presidential ticket to the South-South for peace, understanding, and unity,” Mohammed said.
He explained that politics should not be about personal ambition but about sacrifice, national development, and respect for party structures. According to him, power ultimately comes from God, and leaders must be willing to put aside personal interests for the greater good.
The governor further emphasized that PDP remains committed to providing Nigerians with a fair political platform where everyone has the space to pursue their aspirations.
With the zoning decision settled, Bala Mohammed called on Nigerians to rally behind the party’s vision, assuring that the PDP is working to regain the trust of the people and reposition itself as the “darling of Nigerians.”
