AYRA STARR SPEAKS OUT: “NO MAMI WATER ALLEGATIONS OVER MY HOT BODY TREND”

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has raised concerns that her latest viral trend might attract conspiracy theories.

The Grammy-nominated star recently launched a social media challenge for her new single ‘Hot Body’, her first release since joining Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The trend, which encourages young women to dance and showcase confidence in their bodies, has quickly gone viral.

However, Ayra Starr admitted she fears the unconventional style of the challenge could lead to accusations of being “demonic” or linked to superstitions.

“I better not get any mami water allegation because of this hot body video,” she posted on X.

This isn’t the first time an artist under Mavin Records has faced such claims. In 2023, her label mate Rema was accused of using “Illuminati symbols” during his O2 Arena concert in London. Rema later clarified that his stage props and outfits were inspired by Benin artifacts and African heritage, not satanic references.

Meanwhile, Ayra Starr has also faced criticism over her fashion choices, with singer Jaywon questioning whether she receives guidance from her parents.

Despite the backlash, Ayra Starr’s ‘Hot Body’ trend continues to gain popularity online, sparking debates around music, culture, and artistic freedom.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
