ATIKU’S CAMP FIRES BACK AT BABACHIR LAWAL OVER POLITICAL CRITICISM

The camp of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has responded sharply to recent remarks made by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, describing his comments as being driven by “bitterness rather than facts.”

Babachir Lawal had recently made statements criticising Atiku’s political direction and alliances ahead of ongoing political realignments, sparking reactions from supporters of the opposition leader.

In a swift response, Atiku’s media team dismissed the claims, insisting that the former SGF’s position was biased and not based on objective political analysis.

According to them, Lawal’s comments reflect personal grievances rather than a fair assessment of current political realities.

They maintained that Atiku remains focused on building broad-based political consensus and addressing national challenges, rather than engaging in personal attacks or distractions.

The response added that Nigerians are more concerned about governance, economic stability, and security than intra-party disputes or individual criticisms among political actors.

Atiku’s camp urged the public to disregard what it described as “emotion-driven narratives” and focus on substantive issues affecting the country.

The exchange highlights ongoing tensions within Nigeria’s political space as various figures position themselves ahead of future electoral contests and alliances.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
