Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has cast his vote in Adamawa during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primary, describing the process as part of a broader effort to “recover Nigeria.”

Atiku said the party’s internal election reflects a renewed attempt to rebuild political structures and present what he described as a credible alternative for national leadership.

He noted that participation in the primary was important for strengthening democratic engagement and encouraging greater political inclusion within the party.

According to him, the outcome of the process would shape the direction of the ADC ahead of future elections, with a focus on national development and governance reforms.

The former vice president has continued to remain active in Nigeria’s political space, engaging in party activities and public commentary on national issues.

Party stakeholders say the primary is part of ongoing preparations to position the ADC for a stronger showing in upcoming electoral contests.

Further results from the exercise are expected to be announced after collation is completed.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
