Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, says he plans to have Asake perform at his wedding.

He made the remark during a recent appearance on Apple Music Radio with DJ Tunez and Asake. Wizkid explained that Asake’s breakout hit “Omo Ope” instantly turned him into a fan, but “Remember” remains his personal favourite — and he wants it performed on his wedding day.

Wizkid praised Asake as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and globally, describing him as a major blessing to the continent’s music scene.

“Omo Ope made me an Asake fan from the very first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember.’ You have to play that one on my wedding day — it’s an amazing record.

“You have one of the most unique voices from home and in the world. I’ve told you this many times, and I’m saying it again on radio: you are a blessing to African music,” Wizkid said.

Wizkid is currently in a relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Jada P. The couple share three children — two boys and a girl — and he has been hinting at marriage plans for years.
