Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reached 250 Premier League games in charge of the club after guiding the Gunners to a 1-0 away victory over Aston Villa on Monday.

Bukayo Saka scored the only goal in the 59th minute as Arsenal maintained a perfect start to the new Premier League campaign with two wins from two matches.

According to BBC Sport, Arteta has recorded 151 wins, 48 draws and 51 defeats in his 250 league games, giving him a 60.4 per cent win rate. He ranks fourth among managers with at least 250 games at a single Premier League club, behind Pep Guardiola (70.8%), Alex Ferguson (65.2%) and Jurgen Klopp (62.6%).

“I’m extremely grateful. It starts to be a big number!” Arteta said after the milestone, thanking Arsenal supporters for their support and celebrating the achievement with a victory.

He described the win at Villa Park as a “squad victory”, praising his players for their defensive effort and improved clinical finishing.

The victory also extended Arsenal’s record of winning their opening away league fixture in each of the last five seasons.

For Aston Villa, the defeat continued their poor start, with Unai Emery’s side yet to register a shot on target in the Premier League this season.
