ARSENAL HIT BY HAVERTZ INJURY AHEAD OF LEEDS CLASH

Arsenal have been dealt a major setback just days after their hard-fought 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford. Midfielder Kai Havertz has suffered a knee injury and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period.

According to The Athletic, the German international was absent from the club’s open training session at the Emirates on Wednesday morning, sparking concerns about his availability. It is still unclear when Havertz picked up the injury, as he came on in the second half against United and finished the game without any obvious discomfort.

The news comes at a difficult time for manager Mikel Arteta, who is already under pressure to find the right balance in attack. Reports suggest the Gunners are now actively exploring the transfer market for attacking reinforcements to provide cover during Havertz’s absence.

In the meantime, Arsenal fans can expect to see Viktor Gyokeres leading the line. The club’s new striker is likely to start against Leeds United in their upcoming Premier League fixture on Saturday. Gyokeres struggled to make an impact against Manchester United, but he will be eager to open his goalscoring account in front of the home crowd at the Emirates.

With Arsenal aiming to build momentum early in the season, Havertz’s injury is undoubtedly a blow. However, it also presents an opportunity for Gyokeres—and potentially a new signing—to step up and deliver for the Gunners.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
