ARSENAL GO TOP AFTER WEEK 2 AS LIVERPOOL EDGE NEWCASTLE IN 3-2 THRILLER
Arsenal will head into Match Week 3 at the top of the Premier League table after a dominant 5-0 win over Leeds United.
The Gunners’ big victory sees them move above North London rivals Tottenham on goal difference. Spurs had earlier claimed a 2-0 win away at Manchester City to sit at the summit temporarily.
Liverpool also kept their perfect start to the season alive with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Monday night.
Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike put the Reds two goals up, but Newcastle fought back through Bruno Guimaraes and William Osula. Just when it looked like the points would be shared, 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha popped up with a stunning late winner, only days before his 17th birthday.
That result means Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool remain the only sides with maximum points after two games.
Next weekend, Arsenal will travel to Anfield for a blockbuster top-of-the-table clash, where one of the two giants will have to give up their perfect record.
