AROKODARE SET FOR PREMIER LEAGUE SWITCH AS WOLVES TABLE €20M OFFER
Genk head coach, Thorsten Fink, has explained why Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare was left out of the squad for Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Lech Poznan.
According to Fink, the decision was taken to avoid unnecessary risks as the forward edges closer to an exit from the club.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly in advanced talks with Genk for the 23-year-old, with the Premier League side prepared to pay around €20 million to secure his services.
Fink confirmed that discussions are ongoing between both clubs.
“Negotiations are underway. A club is interested. It was too risky for both parties to play,” Fink said in an interview with HLN.
Arokodare finished last season as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League with 21 goals.
