APEX AFRICAN GAS UNVEILS NEW PLANT, BOOSTS PRODUCTION CAPACITY TO 110 TPD

 Apex African Gas Nigeria Limited has commissioned a state-of-the-art 70-tonnes-per-day Air Separation Unit (ASU) plant in Satellite Town, Lagos, significantly expanding its industrial and medical gas production capacity.

The new facility, commissioned on Thursday, June 25, 2026, brings the company’s total daily production to 110 tonnes, positioning it as one of Nigeria’s largest domestic producers of oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and specialty gases. The project, valued at over N10 billion, enhances liquid and gaseous storage capacities and aims to reduce reliance on imported gases.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Najimu Adeniji highlighted the plant’s flexibility in producing critical gases for healthcare, manufacturing, oil and gas, food processing, and construction sectors. General Manager Charles Allam noted that the investment, initiated three years ago, reflects the company’s two-decade commitment to Nigeria’s industrial growth despite currency challenges.

Chief Executive Officer Khodor Ahmad Fawaz emphasised proactive investment ahead of demand to support national healthcare and industry needs.

The commissioning was attended by Senator Tokunbo Abiru as Guest of Honour, who praised the project as a demonstration of enterprise and confidence in Nigeria’s future, contributing to local production, job creation, and reduced import dependence.

Apex African Gas, founded in 2004, has played a vital role in supplying medical oxygen, including free support to hospitals during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The expansion is expected to strengthen supply reliability across key sectors amid growing domestic demand.
