Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have vowed that the party is fully committed to regaining leadership from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections.
The declaration was made on Saturday during a press briefing at the launch of a book authored by Akeem Abas of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), titled “A Life of Principle: The Olayide Moshood Abas Story”, in honour of his father, Pharmacist Olayide Abas, who is also the APC Chairman in Oyo State.
The book presentation coincided with the APC chairman’s 76th birthday celebration and was attended by key party figures, including Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (Oyo South), House of Representatives member Aderemi Oseni (Ido/Ibarapa East), APC senatorial aspirant Wasiu Ademola Alli (Oyo Central), and APC governorship hopeful Barrister Akeem Agbaje.
Other notable attendees were Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, APC Publicity Secretary Wasiu Olawale Sadare, Idris Lapade, Architect Hassan Giwa, Yemi Aderibigbe, Senator Kola Balogun, and Mr. Ademola Babalola, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State chapter, among others.
Speaking at the event, Senator Alli assured that the party remains strong and united in Oyo State.
He said: “There is no problem in Oyo State APC. By the special grace of God, APC is coming to take over Oyo State in 2027. The President reaffirmed this yesterday.”
On his part, Barrister Agbaje maintained that the APC has always been the dominant force in the state.
He stated: “My own view is that APC has always been the strongest party in Oyo State. Once we remain united, we will always defeat the PDP.”
