APC URGES ONDO YOUTHS TO REGISTER FOR PVCS AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS
The South-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress has called on youths across Ondo State to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appeal follows the reopening of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The APC South-West Youth Leader, Daramola Adesuyi, made the call in a statement issued on Thursday, stressing that the PVC remains essential for participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
“Beyond just being a voting card, the PVC serves as a powerful instrument of civic engagement and a valid means of identification,” Adesuyi stated.
He explained that only citizens with PVCs would be eligible to vote during elections.
“The primary purpose of the PVC is to grant eligible citizens the right to vote in local and general elections. Without a PVC, a citizen cannot cast a vote, regardless of their eligibility or political interest,” he added.
Adesuyi urged APC youth leaders, student bodies, aspirants, and stakeholders across the South-West to mobilise eligible youths to participate fully in the registration exercise.
According to him, the Continuous Voter Registration exercise also allows citizens to transfer their registration details or replace lost or damaged voter cards.
INEC had earlier announced that the third and final phase of the nationwide voter registration exercise would begin on May 11, 2026, and end on July 10, 2026, as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
