APC STEPS UP GRASSROOTS WOMEN MOBILISATION FOR TINUBU IN KWARA

Thousands of women from Kwara South Senatorial District have pledged their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. The mobilisation took place in Offa, the headquarters of Kwara South, as part of a broader grassroots campaign aimed at strengthening support for the All Progressives Congress ahead of the elections.

The exercise was coordinated by Taiye Mutiat Omotosho, honorary assistant to former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu, who currently serves as Director of Women Mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council. Speaking through her representative, Edu told the women that the group was prepared to build support for Tinubu and other APC candidates across the senatorial district.

Edu’s representative said the women would begin door-to-door mobilisation once approval is obtained from the APC women mobilisation directorate. The campaign is reportedly part of a wider nationwide grassroots activation programme targeting communities across Nigeria, with the organisers seeking to establish stronger structures at community, ward and polling-unit levels ahead of the 2027 polls.

The women who attended the gathering expressed their backing for Tinubu and the APC, promising to take the mobilisation beyond the meeting venue into their respective communities. They also indicated their readiness to engage voters directly through grassroots outreach and door-to-door campaigns, with the organisers stressing the importance of sustaining unity and momentum within the party’s women structure.

Omotosho thanked the participants for their large turnout and urged them to maintain the enthusiasm generated by the gathering. The mobilisation comes weeks after Edu was named to lead women mobilisation for Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, with the APC seeking to expand its grassroots network and secure strong support among women voters across the country.
