APC SLAMS ADC OVER KATSINA KILLINGS COMMENT, CALLS IT ‘CHEAP POLITICS’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its reaction to the recent killing of worshippers in Malumfashi, Katsina State.

The ADC had earlier condemned the spate of attacks across the country, describing it as proof that Nigeria’s security architecture was collapsing. The opposition party also accused both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of caring more about politics than the safety of Nigerians.

In a swift response on Monday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the ADC’s remarks as “opportunistic and grossly insensitive.”

Morka insisted that the Katsina killings should not be turned into a political tool, stressing that it was a national tragedy that deserved sober reflection.

“It is a thing of national tragedy when lives of innocent and law-abiding citizens are cut down by forces of evil and terror. It is despicable and must be condemned by all Nigerians. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families of the victims of this and other incidents,” he said.

The ruling party emphasised that addressing insecurity requires unity, not divisive rhetoric, and urged all political actors to treat such incidents with the seriousness they deserve.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
