The All Progressives Congress and the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Anambra State have disagreed over claims that the two parties are working together ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The disagreement centres on the “progressives working together” slogan associated with Anambra State Governor and APGA national leader, Chukwuma Soludo.

The APC Deputy National Chairman, South, Ben Nwoye, rejected the claim, describing it as a fallacy and urging party supporters not to be misled by the slogan.

Nwoye spoke during an Anambra Central Senatorial District stakeholders’ meeting with local government and ward officials in Awka.

He said the APC remained focused on securing victory for its candidates in the 2027 elections, including President Bola Tinubu.

The APC senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Uche Ekwunife, also urged party members to reject the claim of cooperation between the two parties and support APC candidates at all levels.

However, APGA Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, dismissed the APC’s position and maintained that the “progressives working together” position remained valid.

Opara pointed to APGA’s decision to adopt President Tinubu as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election as evidence of the party’s alignment with the APC-led Federal Government.

He said APGA was not deceiving the public and maintained that the party’s position on working with progressive forces remained unchanged.

The disagreement comes as political parties intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
