APC OBJECTS TO SERVICE ORDER IN TINUBU ELIGIBILITY CASE
The All Progressives Congress has challenged an order allowing substituted service on President Bola Tinubu in a Federal High Court case concerning his eligibility to contest the 2027 presidential election.
The case was filed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress, who are challenging aspects of Tinubu’s eligibility and credentials.
The APC, in a submission before the Federal High Court in Abuja, argued that the order for substituted service was unnecessary because the President’s legal representatives had already filed and served his defence in the case.
The party therefore asked the court to set aside the order, maintaining that the legal process had already been complied with through the President’s lawyers.
The dispute is part of ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the 2027 presidential election.
The case is expected to continue as the parties present their respective arguments before the court.
The APC’s latest filing adds another procedural issue to the broader legal challenge involving the President’s credentials and eligibility ahead of the next general election.
