Popular activist Aisha Yesufu has stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) enjoys the support of over 200 million Nigerians.

However, she acknowledged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which currently has about 30 state governors, has a stronger financial advantage and could outspend the ADC.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Yesufu admitted that the APC possesses greater financial resources but insisted that the opposition party has the passion and backing of ordinary Nigerians.

According to her, the APC’s access to national resources gives it the ability to spend more during political activities.

“The ADC is not pretending that when it comes to money, the APC cannot outspend us. Of course, they can outspend us because they have access to our coffers and national wealth, which they can use however they choose,” she said.

Despite this, Yesufu maintained that the APC lacks the level of dedication and enthusiasm that ADC supporters bring to the political space.

“One thing I can say is that they cannot outmatch our passion,” she added.

She further argued that while the APC controls about 30 state governors, the ADC draws strength from the broader Nigerian population.

“They may have 30 governors, but we have more than 200 million Nigerians — excluding those governors and some of their supporters,” she said.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
