The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its Media and Publicity Subcommittee ahead of the party’s 2026 National Convention.

Speaking during the inauguration in Abuja on Monday, the Co-Chairman of the subcommittee and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, urged members to carry out their responsibilities with professionalism and dedication.

Idris noted that the APC-led administration under President Bola Tinubu is currently implementing bold reforms designed to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term national development.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to advancing the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the upcoming convention presents an opportunity for the party to showcase unity, discipline, and a collective commitment to national progress.

“The responsibility entrusted to this committee is both strategic and vital,” he said. “In today’s fast-paced information environment, the success of any major political event depends largely on how effectively its message is communicated to the public.”

According to him, the committee’s responsibilities extend beyond publicity to include ensuring the accurate dissemination of information, promoting transparency, coordinating media engagements, and projecting both the process and outcomes of the convention to Nigerians and the international community.

He outlined the committee’s key deliverables to include content creation, media relations, media planning and buying, liaison with other subcommittees on media-related engagements, report preparation, writing and documentation in both hard and soft copies, media monitoring, performance evaluation, and reporting in print and audio-visual formats. The committee will also handle the administration and coordination of all media activities related to the convention.

Idris encouraged members to approach the assignment with a strong sense of duty, professionalism, and creativity to ensure the successful communication of the party’s activities during the convention.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
