APC GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE DISMANTLED OVER INSECURITY — BUBA GALADIMA
A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has warned that Nigerians could decisively reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls if current economic and security challenges persist. He recalled how Nigerians removed former President Goodluck Jonathan from office in 2015 over insecurity as an example of public power.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Galadima criticized the ruling party’s policies and dismissed claims that living conditions have improved under the APC government.
On the subject of political dissent and governance, the elder statesman cautioned authorities not to underestimate public sentiment, citing recent arrests over public commentary. He expressed concern over the detention of young people who voice their opinions on radio programs about national issues.
Addressing the APC-led federal government, Galadima said: “They should not assume that Nigerians are gullible or incapable of responding. Things often start small and can quickly escalate. If citizens could remove Jonathan’s government over insecurity in the Northeast, what makes the APC think it is untouchable? They risk being cut into pieces.”
