APC EXPELS 30 MEMBERS IN ANAMBRA OVER COURT CASE AGAINST PARTY
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has expelled 30 members accused of dragging the party before the court over internal disputes.
The decision was reportedly reached during a state executive meeting held in Awka and presided over by the party’s deputy chairman, J. C Okeke.
APC Cites Party Constitution for Expulsion
Speaking after the meeting, the APC State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Oliobi, said the action taken against the affected members was in line with Article 21, subsection 5 of the party’s constitution.
According to him, some of the expelled members were aspirants seeking election into the House of Representatives and had already purchased nomination forms before taking legal action against the party.
“The 30 people that took the party to court were expelled in line with Article 21, subsection 5 of the APC constitution,” Oliobi stated.
“The party can only listen to them if they withdraw the case they filed against the party.”

The party also approved the composition of its disciplinary and primary election committees during the meeting.
Former senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo was named chairman of the disciplinary committee.
Other members of the committee include:
Chioma Ejikeme
Jessie Balonwu
Amobi Nwokafor
Mike Ejezie
C. N. Madubueze
Meanwhile, Chris Chikwelu Jr will serve as secretary of the disciplinary panel.
For the Primary Election Committee, Izu Okeke was appointed chairman, alongside other members including:

Joe Ofokansi
Carl Mbanefo will serve as secretary of the committee.
APC Inaugurates LG Chairmen, Clears Aspirants
The party also inaugurated its 21 local government chairmen across Anambra State during the meeting.
According to Oliobi, the newly inaugurated officials are expected to proceed with the inauguration of ward executives in their respective areas.
He further disclosed that the party had created a new position of security director to strengthen internal coordination and security matters within the state chapter.
On preparations for future elections, the APC spokesperson said a screening committee from Abuja had already screened House of Assembly aspirants.
He revealed that all 30 aspirants who appeared before the panel were cleared, while aspirants across the 11 federal constituencies in the state also successfully passed the screening process.
