The Adamawa State All Progressives Congress Elders Forum, Northern Zone, has commended AG Vision Construction Company for the quality of work on the completed first phase of the Yola-Mubi road project.

The group also urged the Federal Government to award the contract for the second phase to ensure the full completion of the road. (punchng.com)

Speaking in Mubi, the forum’s spokesman, Mohammed Abubakar, said the first phase had been completed and appealed to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, to approve the remaining phase.

Abubakar described the road as important to northern Adamawa because it connects the area with Cameroon and supports commercial activities in Mubi. He also said completing the route would improve trade and movement within the region.

The APC elders further said the road would support security operations by making it easier for security agencies to access communities affected by insecurity.

Some commercial motorists also praised the contractor, saying the reconstructed section was wider and stronger than the previous road.

The forum also appealed to National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to support efforts to secure the award of the second phase.

The Federal Government had previously approved funding for the second phase of the Yola-Hong-Mubi road project. The completed first phase covers about 52 kilometres, while the second and final phase is still awaiting award.
