The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the governor of Oyo, Seyi Makinde, of failing to adequately address rising insecurity in parts of the state.

Party officials claimed that recent security challenges, including reported cases of violence and criminal activity, reflect gaps in the state government’s security strategy.

According to the APC, more proactive measures are needed to strengthen coordination between security agencies and local communities to restore public confidence.

The opposition party also urged the state government to prioritize intelligence gathering, community policing, and improved response systems to curb insecurity.

In response to such criticisms, state authorities have previously maintained that security is being handled through collaboration with federal agencies and local security networks.

Political observers note that insecurity has become a recurring subject of debate between ruling and opposition parties across several states in Nigeria.

The situation in Oyo continues to draw attention as stakeholders call for more coordinated efforts to ensure safety and stability.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
