ANOTHER OSUN SENATOR QUITS PDP AMID GROWING PARTY CRISIS
Senator Fadeyi Dumps PDP, Cites Internal Crisis and Court Battles
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another major setback in Osun State as Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central, has officially resigned from the party.
His resignation comes shortly after Senator Francis Fadahunsi from Osun East also announced his departure, signaling growing instability within the party in the state and beyond.
In a letter addressed to his ward chairman in Oke-Ejigbo, Ila-Orangun, and copied to both the PDP National and State leadership, Fadeyi said his decision was made after wide consultations with his political associates, friends, and family.
He cited irreconcilable differences, deep divisions within the PDP, and ongoing court cases at the national level as key reasons for his exit, noting that the situation had created multiple factions and made it difficult to move forward politically.
“This decision was not taken lightly. It followed deep reflection and discussion with stakeholders close to me,” Fadeyi stated.
With two senators now out of the PDP in Osun within just days, political observers believe more defections may follow as the party grapples with internal leadership crises and legal troubles.
The development is expected to shift political calculations in Osun State ahead of upcoming elections.
